About Us

Jason and I met at a Christian Camp and Retreat Center over 15 years ago.  We were both on the summer staff there.  After working the whole summer together we decided to start dating.  We spent a lot of our 10 months that we were dating apart from each other as Dawn at the time was a Band Director in a small town in Iowa and Jason was working at a hospital in Croydon, England.
How my MR WRIGHT proposed to me: Jason came to my band room where I was teaching.  He had written a poem for me (something he did often) that talked about his love for me, and the fact that my engagement ring has 3 diamonds representing us with God in the middle.  He did this in front of my high school band students- who were thrilled, and loved it!
We were engaged for a couple of months before getting married.  Our wedding was in England so we could spend time with Jason’s family before moving back to the United States.  It was fun- we both shared our Christian testimonies, we had a skit about the different kinds of love, we sang “Thank You” by Ray Boltz to our family & friends, we even had Jason’s parents play Buddy Holly songs during the registration signing.  It wasn’t big, nor fancy, but it was fun!  We had pics of us both as we were growing up- an American Flag & British Flag.  My mother in Love made my dress.  We spent very little on the wedding, and rented a cottage near the coast of England for our honeymoon.

We have now been married almost 15 years!  We have gone through a lot in those 15 years, lots of great times and a lot of hard times.  One thing we know for sure is  that God is our center.  We are not perfect, but we have grace for each other, we say we are sorry, and words like I forgive you.  Those are powerful words especially when we know we have to look to God to keep honoring and keep holding fast to what we know to be true in the Bible.
